NGS quality analysis

In an experiment based on next-generation sequencing (NGS), the high quality of obtained sequences is of great importance. The machine attaches information regarding the quality of each read nucleotide. The information is usually provided in the form of numeric data (commonly referred to as the Q parameter) defining the probability of correct nucleotide in read.

The quality of read may be affected by numerous factors connected with the sample itself (during the isolation or library preparation stages), as well as the sequencing set used. Low quality of read may increase the occurrence rate of false positive variants and decrease the value of sequencing results.

Qualitative and quantitative determination of data is the essential first stage of bioinformatic analysis. Our offer includes sequencing quality analysis of raw FASTQ files.
